Joining a Choir When You’re Not a Singer
The internet is overflowing with skilled musicians talking about their craft: technique, theory, instrument design, production, you name it. But I (Thomas DeBusk) founded BRVC on the premise that music is for everyone, not just the “talented few”. Singing is something we can all do. So I want to revive singing together as a pastime average people can enjoy more than just on karaoke night.
Curiously, non-singers don’t blog about joining choirs. So when self-styled non-practitioner Michael Abraham joined BRVC, I asked him to fill the void. He joined for a traditional reason: to chase a girl. (But she doesn’t need to hear that.) So as of February 28, 2025, he’s a singer.
Read on about Michael’s experience, in his own words.
